Von der Neurobiologie des Gehirns bis zur ganzheitlichen Verbindung von Körper und Geist im Einklang mit dem Pferd.
Das lateinische Wort HippoCampus bezeichnet weit mehr als nur einen Ort, an dem Pferde untergebracht sind. Der Hippocampus ist zugleich eine zentrale Struktur in unserem Gehirn, die eine lebenswichtige Funktion erfüllt: die Integration unserer Gefühle in andere kognitive und neuronale Prozesse.
Die tiefere Bedeutung dieses Namens spiegelt sich auch in unserem Logo wider, das auf ein altes Siegel des Templerordens zurückgeht. Es symbolisiert, dass das Pferd nicht nur den physischen Körper, sondern im übertragenen Sinne auch den Geist des Menschen trägt. Alle Initiativen von HippoCampus zielen daher gleichermaßen auf den Körper und den Geist des Reiters ab – zur Verfeinerung der Technik und zur Stärkung einer tiefen, harmonischen Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Pferd.
Was passiert auf HippoCampus? – Unsere Initiativen im Überblick
- Specialized in Equitherapy (therapeutic and orthopedagogical work with the horse) and psychomotorics in equestrian sports.
- Providing expertise for the initiation and development of therapeutic riding within healthcare and educational institutions.
- Organizing workshops and clinics for riders focused on self-experience, enhancing motor skills, and deepening the equine relationship.
- Offering dressage training based on classical, horse-friendly horsemanship, psychomotor techniques, and deep respect for the nature of the horse.
- Promoting cooperation with a happy horse that enjoys working with humans, supported by species-appropriate housing and care.
- Guiding horse and rider through rehabilitation and performance training using modern instructional methods and customized training plans.
- Rehabilitating poorly ridden or traumatized horses to restore trust and physical ease.
- Providing self-experience with horses for both current and aspiring riders to gain deeper self-awareness through the medium of the horse.
- Offering targeted individual assistance for seat issues, communication blocks, or exam anxiety.
- Combining equestrian and therapeutic guidance to effectively overcome riding anxiety.
- Supporting disabled equestrians (including blind riders) in pursuing equestrian sports and growing together with their horses.
- Helping riding instructors, trainers, and coaches elevate their teaching through applied equestrian sports psychology.
- Conducting professional training programs in therapeutic riding since 2000, in collaboration with the Dutch Foundation SHP-E(NL) and member organizations of the FATP.
- Operating strictly under the guidelines of SHP-E(NL) and maintaining active representation in international bodies such as FATP (Forum of Training Providers in Therapy with the Horse) and FAPP (International Working Group for Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy).
